Selah is professionally run, always clean, and, most importantly, “family.” My mom lived there for her last few years, and I can’t imagine a warmer, more intimate and secure place for her to have been. Larger ALFs are certainly good for their purposes, but if one wants a relative to live in a smaller environment with more careful attention, Selah is, to me, the best place for a loved one. James and Christy are not only the owners, but they are extraordinary RNs who give their best to create the environment of warmth and security that Selah has, not to mention that they are always available. I was also able to communicate very comfortably with the staff with any concerns or questions.
Selah is not your typical care facility for seniors. The facility is designed to cater to a small number of patients/residents which allows more personal care from the staff. My Dad spent the last two months of his life at Selah and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a home environment for your loved one.
Sonya and Jess were particularly good to my Dad. (Even when he expressed less than desirable comments out of his frustration of being ill.) The place is quite clean and actually smells pleasant instead of typical nursing facilities which have a tendency to smell like urine or disinfectant.
James, the owner is a caring owner that goes out of his way to ensure family members are updated and works tirelessly to ensure residents and family members have everything they need.
My father-in-law lived at Selah Living and was very comfortable there. Our family loved
the home atmosphere, how everything is opened up where they can sit at the kitchen table
and see someone cooking just like being at home or the way they uste to live when they cared
for a family. The staff is remarkable and caring. James and Christy Richard the owners (both
registered nurses) kept us informed of anything that pertained to our father.
I would highly recommend this home for anyone you love.
